Astronaut Neil Armstrong said ‘geologists have a saying – rocks remember’, a point which is reiterated in this intriguing look at folkloric, faeries, stones and crystals, their uses and history as more than just a passing fad in the modern day world of what is considered New Age Philosophies.
Faeries it is considered, have been associated with rocks, crystals and so very much of the intrigue that is associated with these elements of folk lore, myth and legend as, it would seem that Faeires area bit like the magpies of this world. They love to collect interesting little bit and pieces, which include stones, crystals, little bits of gold and gems and love utilise their benefits. They relate to the ‘rock kin’ and over millenniums have created what is considered as a wonderful working relationship built on a love of stones and thus a love of the earth.
In slightly more modern times myth and mystique abounded with many stones achieving a reverence such as the Stone of Joseph. Specific crystals were discovered as having been used as remedies which appear in ancient Egyptian texts namely the Ebers Papyrus and the Vedas of Ancient India.
