Introducing our Astrology writer for Conscious Living Magazine
Since childhood, Rachel has had an awareness of spiritual gifts. One summer afternoon in her early teens, she picked up a big purple astrology book. She read the book, constructed charts for herself and each of her family members. She could not believe the accuracy. Astrology helped her to understand her parents and friends…but more importantly, herself! This gift of understanding changed Rachel’s entire adolescent experience. She had been struggling with the usual teenage angst, belonging needs, and questions about her future. Astrology gave her a framework within which she could learn to accept herself and she could see the astrological influences that shaped her life.
Rachel is committed to expanding her spiritual and astrological knowledge. She began seriously studying astrology and developing her gifts in her late teens. She attended classes at a local metaphysical school and joined a spiritualist community. Later Rachel studied astrology under the mentorship of some world-renowned astrologers and dedicated herself to the craft.
Rachel started her practice in 2006, after a consultation with a remarkable soul reader and good friend, Maryann Russell, who encouraged her to pursue her path as an astrologer and to share her messages with others. Today, she maintains an international client base consisting of individuals, small businesses, and corporations. She helps her clients understand and maximize the potential of their natal charts and by looking ahead at progressions, and transits to determine how to navigate the path ahead.
Rachel also writes regular articles and horoscopes for the LVBX, leads meditation groups, teaches workshops, and speaks internationally on spiritual and astrological topics.
Rachel received certification from the American Federation of Astrologers and she is a member of ISAR, the International Society for Astrological Research. Rachel is the Vice President for her local NCGR (National Council for Geocosmic Research) Los Angeles chapter and is the Outreach Director for the international NCGR Board of Directors.
Rachel has also been certified as an Advanced Psychic Medium from world-renowned teacher and Psychic Medium Lisa Williams through the Lisa Williams International School of Spiritual Development in LA, California (LWISSD).

Helping Incarcerated Women
Before starting her practice, Rachel worked in marketing and non-profit fundraising. In 2002, Rachel wrote the book Stories of Hope, which chronicled the stories of thirteen formerly incarcerated women after spending two years with the women of Let’s Start in St. Louis, MO. Both in professional roles as well as volunteer ones, she successfully helped raise awareness and funds for important causes like alternative sentencing for nonviolent offenders, ending violence against women, and helping prevent and heal the effects of sexual assault.
Rachel also completed a master’s degree in Theology at Loyola Marymount University. Her Masters Thesis focuses on gender, religion, and justice, and it included research on the witch trials of the Early Modern Period in Germany. Rachel is passionate about social justice and environmental causes, and she regularly volunteers and supports organizations dedicated to affecting change in our community.
