We might not always get to our altar to meditate where we have our crystals, Mala beads, candles, incense, and pictures of gurus. So what can we do?
5 Unique and Unusual Places to Meditate
Here is a list of 5 alternative places to meditate, and the last one might seem a bit gross, but hey it’s better than nothing!
1. Parked car (yes please note, meditating while driving is not recommended!)
2. Parks. It might be a bit windy and noisy but see if you can find a quiet bench or patch of grass.
3. Churches. Nice and quiet, beautiful, serene environment however the benches can be uncomfortable!
4. Trains. I love trains for meditating. Sydney even has certain carriages dedicated to ‘quiet zones’ perfect for meditation.
5. Toilet cubicles. Okay yes, I know it sounds gross but it’s better than nothing. Be sure to put the toilet seat down okay?
The key to meditation is not about where you meditate.
The outer location isn’t important, it’s what you find in your inner location, which is stillness and silence. And it’s always there, meditation is the portal to accessing it.
